Apparently it is the biggest announcement in last six years. HP has paid loads of attention to new generation 8 ProLiant servers. “The Generation 8 server is the world’s first self-sufficient server to cut overheads and downtime.
Generation 8 servers are so intelligent they virtually look after themselves,” claimed Paul Kimber, industry standard servers and software manager for UK and Ireland.
New server has an active health system, a chip in the board that records all actions in real time. The chip contains management software that IT admins can boot up server quickly. Machines once connected to the network are able to send down the OS image without even turning it on.
G8 ProLiant family has been updated by over 150 innovations brought by world clients. Some including Dynamic Workload Acceleration which HP claims can run storage application up to 7 times faster. New servers also are enhanced by 32 sensors that capable to build 3D of hotspots. Thermal imaging allows cooling system run more efficient.
